About us

Launched in 2004, the London Energy Partnership (LEP) works with a range of partners across London to promote a sustainable energy future.

Partnership aims:

  • Assist in the delivery of London's carbon dioxide reduction, fuel poverty and security of supply targets
  • Provide a single voice for sustainable energy in London and achieve a sea change in thinking about sustainable energy by key stakeholders
  • Enable a number of high-profile, London-wide initiatives that deliver social, environmental and economic benefits
  • Create commercial opportunities in sustainable energy and help to build London's green economy

The LEP work programme has been developed by members and is constantly evolving in response to Mayoral priorities and the changing policy environment in the field of energy and climate change. To best address this dynamic, the Partnership works through a number of Task and Project Groups. Our current work focuses on fuel poverty, decentralised energy, biomass and Low Carbon Zones. Previous work covered low carbon finance, low carbon skills, zero carbon development and renewables. For more information go to Work Areas.

In addition, the LEP organises a range of events, including an annual forum. These events focus on sharing best practice and engagement with key stakeholders in the energy area across London.
